Ford Fiesta S2000 begins testing
The car which Ford will use as the basis for its WRC campaign in 2011, the Fiesta S2000, has started the testing phase of its development programme.
Less than six months after M-Sport began work on its Fiesta S2000 project, the first car has been completed and was given its initial system checks at a track close to the firm's Cumbrian base on Sunday.
An extensive testing programme will continue in the UK before switching to mainland Europe for asphalt and gravel tests in the coming months.
Stobart Ford driver Matthew Wilson was at the wheel for the first shakedown and he will be among a number of drivers who will test the vehicle during a condensed development programme scheduled for the rest of 2009.
The new car is expected to be homologated in January 2010 and will be aimed at competitors in next year's WRC World Cup, as well as other national and international series around the globe.
The team of designers and engineers, led by M-Sport’s Technical Director Christian Loriaux, have stuck closely to a tight development schedule to allow the maximum amount of time for testing between now and the end of the year.
In an effort to further speed up the development process, a second body shell is already complete and should be transformed into a second test car by the end of October.
M-Sport Managing Director Malcolm Wilson said: “The production of a new rally car is always an exciting period for everyone at M-Sport and I’m pleased to see that Christian and his team have finished the build on schedule as planned.
"The important thing now is that we undertake a strong test and development campaign in order to provide our customers with the best possible S2000 package. I’m sure that this car will also provide a very strong base for Ford’s next generation WRC car.”

Kako sam ja citao negdje Fiesta ce zamjenit Focus jer jer je Focus postao prevelik.

fiesta ce se dobro snaci 100 posto... to zakljucujem na osnovu gledanja auto trka na tv gde je fiesta imala jako dobre rezultate

Samo mi nije jasno kako im je Focus veliki? Mogu i da učestvuju sa biciklama u šampionatu u tom slučaju.

I meni je to cudno. Zar ne postoji neka klasa vozila koja se mora koristiti u WRC ili se samo gleda snaga motora?
Jer bi onda mogli reci i da je Fiesta teska i da trebaju koristiti Ka. Ka sa 300+ hp motorom bi sigurno bio brzi i od Focusa i od Fieste.

Ne postoji klasa kola... može da se takmiči bilo koji auto sve dok je 4wd,2.0 turbo do 300ks i ne sme da bude lakši od 1250 kila i teži od 1300 kila.
Tako ste imali svakojaka kola od Peugeot-a 206 WRC do Škoda Octavie WRC

Zato je i Peugeot svojevremeno napravio specijalnu seriju 206 (beše 2500 komada) sa glomaznijim branicima da bi dostigao 4m "civilnog" modela potrebnih za homologaciju.

a ne pardon to je 206 ja se zbunio mislio sam da pricas o 205 xD

Za grupu B treba i centralni motor
Ne razume kako je fokus veliki ,a EVO nije ....
Koliko je dugo Ksara dominirala relijem , cak i sezonu posto je izbacena iz serisek proizvodnje . Verovatno je neko napravio matematiku i dokazao da su to idealne proporcije , a da se fokus tu ne uklapa

T-Bird rađen specijalno za filmu Thunderbirds. Al sam volio da gledam seriju koja je napraljena sa lutkama i valjda neki modeli, makete šta li je već.
