Drugacija je situacija. F1 je svetski sport, ljudi vole svoje domace vozace ili timove bez obzira za koga voze.
U Supercarsu 99% vozaca su iz Australije ili Novog Zelanda, tamo su gotovo svi domaci.

Jeste to si u pravu isto i za Nascar vazi. ali ja mislim da ti ljudi prvenstveno vole trke pa tek onda aute, vozace itd. Hocu reci dogod je dobrih vozaca i trka postojace i prvenstva kakvog takvog.

Znaci ako sam dobro razumeo iz teksta, 888 ce praviti Camaro i onda ce ga prodavati ostalim timovima? Bas bi voleo da vidim koliko timova ce moci da priusti Camaro bez finansijske pomoci Chevroleta, ali dobro, videcemo. Licno ce mi biti draze da se Mustang trka protiv Camara nego protiv sadasnjeg Opela. Mada i dalje stojim iza toga da Australijanci nemaju nikakvu "emotivnu vezu" sa Chevroletom kao sto su imali sa Holdenom.

Nije bas isto. Australijancima Chevrolet ne znaci nista, isto kao sto Amerikancima ne bi Holden nesto znacio.

Mislis o tome kako ce 888 proizvoditi Camaro i onda ga prodavati drugim timovima? Pa ne bi bas rekao da je isti slucaj kao sto je do sada bio sa Commodore. Istina, i trkacki Commodore je verovatno vecinski razvio 888, ali su imali i inzenjere i finansije General Motorsa. A posto General Motors vise ne posluje u Australiji nema razloga da baca novac i razvoj na ovaj trkacki Camaro, jednostavno nema koristi od toga.

Organizator Australijskog šampionata superautomobila iskoristio je poslednju rundu tekuće sezone, Bathurst 1000, da otkrije tehničke detalje treće generacije vozila koja će se od 2022. godine takmčiti na stazama ove serije.
Formalno, ime koncepta je Gen3 i u pratećim crtežima primenjen je na “ford mustang” i “ševrolet kamaro”, koji će se sigurno trkati u 2022.
Koncept je izradio komitet sačinjen od predstavnika organizatora i timova DJR Penske, Tripl ejt rejs inženjering, Tikford rejsing, Bred Džons rejsing i Vokinšo Andreti rejsing.
Ciljevi prelaska s druge na treću generaciju su trojaki: povećana relevantnost u odnosu na auto-industriju, smanjenje troškova takmičenja i bolje trkanje.
Organizator nova tehnička pravila najavljuje kao evoluciju postojećih, zasnovanih na vozilima s V8 motorima, motorom napred i pogonom pozadi.
Kako se pretpostavljalo i najavljivalo, temelj kategorije ubuduće će predstavljati kupei sa dvoja vrata. Postignut je dogovor sa Dženeral motorsom koji je dao licencu da se njegov model “kamaro” takmiči kao zamena za “holden komodor”, dok će “ford mustang” uz fabričku podršku doživeti transformaciju u Gen3 automobil.
Na scenu će stupiti nova standardizovana šasija, manja od aktuelne, kako bi se proširio izbor modela koji mogu da se takmiče.
Svi Gen3 automobili moraće da imaju iste dimenzije ključnih elemenata karoserije – vrata, krova, haube i prozora – kao serijski modeli na kojima su zasnovani.
Zaštitni kavez snižen je za 100 milimetara, trag točkova je za isto toliko proširen jer se veruje da su ove dimenzije podesnije da predstavljaju kupe automobile od sada aktuelnih.
Sličnosti sa serijskim automobilima pomažu značajna redukcija aerodinamike (izvedena u cilju boljeg trkanja) i vidno smanjena zadnja krila (čiji je prikaz na crtežu samo ilustrativne prirode). Aeropotisak koji stvaraju Gen3 automobili biće smanjen za 200 kg, što je više od polovine sadašnje vrednosti.
Na osnovu tih parametara, Danlop će razviti nove standardizovane pneumatike za šampionat.
U cilju uštede, predviđen je veći broj standardizovanih komponenti, neke od njih će moći da se nabavljaju od organizatora, druge će ekipe moći same da izrađuju. Generalno, cena nabavke automobile i operativni troškovi treba da budu 30 do 40% niži od postojećih.
Namera je da se timovi manje oslanjaju na inženjerstvo i sakupljene podatke, a više na veštinu vozača, što takođe smanjuje troškove učešća.
Motori zasad ostaju V8 konfiguracije, ali im je snaga snižena na oko 600 KS pri 7.500 o/min. Međutim, i automobili će biti 100 kilograma lakši od onih Gen2, pa će odnos snage i težine ostati u principu nepromenjen.
Organizator razmatra mogućnost da ponudi “generički” motor (kao što radi TOCA u BTCC) kako bi potencijalno zainteresovanim proizvođačima i markama olakšao ulazak u kategoriju.

Iskreno da ti kazem, ovo sa domaceg sajta ima vise logike. Jer mi je neverovatno da bi GM placao tehnicki razvoj i trosio novac za fabricku podrsku za takmicenje u Australiji iako uopste ne posluje vise u Australiji. Koju korist bi imao od toga, gde je logika?

Posle ove godine ne. Chevrolet i do sada nije poslovao u Australiji, samo Holden jeste, a posle 2020. godine Holdena vise nece biti u nikakvom obliku kao novi auto (cak ni kao prepakovani Opel). Postojace samo neki privatni uvoznici koje ce da uvoze neke Chevroletove modele.

Camaro ce se prodavati u malim brojevima, ali samo preko privatnih uvoznika. Verovatno mozda par stotina godisnje.

2019 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS coming to Australia with manual option
That's right, the new Camaro is being offered with a six-speed manual in Australia. The 10-speed automatic will also be offered, but it's now a $2200 option.
HSV has confirmed it'll bring the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro to Australia, complete with the option of a manual transmission and a higher $86,990 starting price before on-road costs.
Headline news is the addition of a six-speed manual option to the Camaro, which now becomes the standard transmission. A 10-speed automatic is an option ($2200) and brings customisable launch control and line-lock.
Compared to the 2SS currently offered Down Under, the 2019 model brings a new front end with twin-element LED headlights, a functional hood scoop and Chevrolet's flow-tie grille emblem, which allows air to flow through and feed the beast within.
Down back, there's redesigned tail-lights and a fresh bumper design more in keeping with the wider Chevrolet range. There's also a new set of wheels with a five-spoke onion-dicer design.
The latest-generation Chevrolet infotainment system will be fitted, along with a rear-camera mirror, a head-up display, and forward-collision alert.
Power comes from the same 6.2L 'LT1' V8 as before, making the same 339kW and 617Nm as the previous model. It's put to the rear wheels, just as before.
Inside, you get dual-zone climate control, a nine-speaker Bose sound system, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, heated/cooled leather seats, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. No convertible is offered, but you do get a sunroof. Little rays of sunshine, right?
At the moment, HSV has some of its 550-car initial allocation remaining, but the company won't reveal exactly how many. Numbers haven't been revealed for this latest model, but it's likely to be a longer build run, given the car isn't about to be replaced. Stay tuned.
Production will begin in May for the 2SS manual, while the ZL1 also confirmed today will start arriving in April. The automatic 2019 2SS will be arriving in Clayton during March, while the current model Camaro is currently on offer.

HSV je bila performantna divizija Holdena (Holden Special Vehicles) koja ce takodje biti ugasena sa Holdenom do kraja godine. To je stara vest.

Brane, mi smo u 2020. godini i evo nas skoro u 2021.
Pre je postojala ta General Motorsova divizija HSV za tjuning Holdena i prodavanje specijalnih modela iz Amerike (Corvette, Camaro, Tahoe, Escalade, itd.). Ta divizija vise nece postojati kad Holden bude ugasen za par meseci. Postojace samo individualni uvoznici.

The rollout of the local racing program for the American Camaro is part of a confidential plan to establish a new niche brand called General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV).
Under the proposal, which is yet to be signed off, General Motors would use the Camaro's participation in the V8 Supercar program to promote the local conversion of selected US niche models such as the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban SUVs, and could also pave the way for the return of certain Cadillac and Hummer models in years to come.
The GMSV brand would also distribute the upcoming Chevrolet Corvette due in Australian showrooms early next year. However unlike the Chevrolet models currently sold locally, the Corvette will be factory-made in right-hand drive.
Although Holden will close all 204 showrooms nationally by the end of this year, CarAdvice understands General Motors in Detroit is still keen to retain a presence in Australia.
Holden Special Vehicles, which had been modifying Australian-made Commodores for 30 years before the end of local manufacturing in 2017, has since shifted its business to convert certain left-hand drive models to right-hand drive but to factory quality standards.
Through its network of 65 Holden Special Vehicles dealers, the company has distributed the Chevrolet Camaro muscle car and Chevrolet Silverado pickup since 2018.
Holden Special Vehicles has had modest success so far with its conversion business, but it is about to ramp up production with the imminent arrival of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, which undercuts its current pickup range by $30,000.
Representatives for Holden, General Motors, and Holden Special Vehicles have declined to comment on the speculation about the Camaro's track debut next year, however CarAdvice understands the plan is being reviewed at the highest levels of management in Detroit.
In the meantime, Holden has committed to supporting all current Commodore race teams through to the end of 2020.
The opening round of the 2020 V8 Supercars Championship starts this weekend at the Adelaide 500.

Nema mi bas logike da bi potrosili toliko novca na Supercars (razvoj novog auta, tehnicka podrska timovima, itd.) samo da bi prodali mozda par stotina Camara, Corvette i slicnih modela, ali mozda gresim. Samo kazem da sa biznis poslovanja nema ni najmanje logike, ali to ne znaci da nije istina.
